What Is Included in Your Initial Consultation?

Your first visit is more than a brief treatment appointment. We use the initial consultation to understand your symptoms, assess your condition and decide whether chiropractic care is appropriate for you.

Your initial consultation may include:

• A detailed health and symptom history
• Postural and movement assessment
• Orthopaedic and neurological testing where appropriate
• Assessment of the painful or restricted area
• An explanation of our findings
• A personalised treatment plan where chiropractic care is appropriate
• Treatment on the first visit when clinically appropriate and safe to proceed

Private Health Insurance and HICAPS

If your private health insurance includes chiropractic under Extras cover, you may be able to claim part of your consultation fee.

Ansell Chiropractic Centre provides HICAPS on-the-spot claiming, allowing eligible patients to process their private health claim at our Townsville clinic and usually pay only the remaining gap.

Medicare and Chiropractic Care

Medicare does not normally cover routine chiropractic visits. However, some people with chronic or ongoing health conditions may be referred for a limited number of allied health services, including chiropractic, through an eligible GP Chronic Condition Management Plan.

Does Ansell Chiropractic Centre Bulk Bill Eligible Medicare Visits?

Ansell Chiropractic Centre provides no-gap bulk billed chiropractic visits for eligible patients with the appropriate GP referral.

This means eligible Townsville patients may have no out-of-pocket consultation fee for qualifying visits when Medicare referral requirements are met.

DVA Chiropractic Care
